Challenge
Perform the balcony speech from Romeo & Juliet in any way you want to, record it and upload it to the Birthday Celebrations YouTube group until Saturday 1 May.
How will you do it? Underwater in scuba diving gear? As robots? To music? In sign language? The choice is yours!

Why not be inspired by RSC actors as they perform the balcony scene from Romeo & Juliet in locations around the streets of Stratford?

Waterside Space Workshops
Make your Birthday Challenge even bigger and add a dance from Capulet’s
Ball to your balcony scene. All the workshops are free. Don’t forget to come along in your mask!
12 - 1pm, Romeo and Juliet Family Dance Workshop
(Suitable for ages 10+ and their families). Put on ‘dancing soles with nimble shoes’ and recreate the scene where Romeo and Juliet first meet. Come with your family to learn the dance and create your own moves with the music from this year’s production of Romeo and Juliet.
1.15 - 2.15pm, Elizabethan Dancing (Suitable for ages 14+)
Join our Movement Department to learn an Elizabethan dance.
Don’t forget to bring your Birthday Challenge mask.
2.30 - 3.30pm, Romeo and Juliet Dance Workshop (Suitable for ages 16+)
Take a moment with your partner to learn the dance that first attracted Romeo to Juliet.
Learn the dance and create your own moves with the music from this year’s production of Romeo and Juliet.
