What’s On …
A stunning mix of old and new
This year, Shakespeare's birthday will be celebrated over a slightly longer period with the customary Saturday morning procession (on 30 April) being the high point of the festivities. Led by the Band of the Corps of Royal Engineers, international dignitaries, schoolchildren, performance artists and community groups come together in a colourful walking spectacle through town that culminates in the laying of flowers on Shakespeare's grave at Holy Trinity Church.
Come and join the parade and celebrate the life and works of the world's greatest dramatist.
In the afternoon Stratford will be alive with street entertainment, children's activities and amusements, from puppet shows and Tudor players to theatrical fun at our RSC family workshops. And you're invited to sign a giant birthday card and enjoy a slice of cake at Shakespeare's Birthplace and the other Shakespeare Houses.
Spain comes to Stratford
Sunday 1 May is Cervantes Day where the town will pay tribute to the famous Spanish
